Lessons Learned

Be Faithful (2 Samuel 22:26)
    * 4 days a week do something to prepare for WTEC

In the translations I'm using right now, 2 Samuel 22:26 says, "To the faithful show yourself faithful, to those with integrity you show integrity."  One of the hardest things about training or preparing for anything is getting faithful.  To some, just "showing up" is what it means to be faithful.  But if your heart isn't present, are you really there??  I want to make sure that I am not just putting in the time, but putting my HEART into the time.

So often a training regimen, workout plan, or fitness program become simply about "getting done" (i.e. "so many reps done so many days/week...").  The problem with this is that if the goal is to finish, then it becomes possible to meet the requirements of the day without improving.  This tends to make most people end-focused.  In other words, I am trying to get better, not  just "get done".

Therefore, I want to make sure that each practice session has a purpose in mind and an area that I want to improve.  By letting this growth be the goal of each day in the practice pen it is easier to stay engaged, focused, and faithful.
