Be Faithful - 2 Samuel 22:26
* 4 days a week do something to prepare for WTEC
+ Even in adversity - James 1:2-7
Lessons Learned
Being faithful is easy when the sun is shining and the practice steers are slammers, but it is another thing to be faithful (heart and soul) when it's raining and the steers are strong.
It has rained all week, the steers were strong, and my body was aching, but this has been a good week of practice. I've come to look at struggles in the practice pen in a different way. While I once groused and complained (read "screamed and cursed") about a steer eating me up, a calf getting by me, or slipping a leg, I now realize that this is just a great opportunity to grow. James 1:2-3..."whenever trouble comes your way let it be an opoprtunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow."
Not that I always remember this lesson, but I have at least learned that I would rather have one get away in the practice pen than at the NFR. If we can remember this it will be easier to keep our heart faithful.
