Sigma (Ages 16-18)

SIGMA (Ages 16-18)

Sigma exists to develop spiritually minded young leaders into fully dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.  This tradition has become a very popular capstone event in a high school student's life.  In fact, many of our summer staff positions in our Dallas based Launch Camps as well as at our Van location are now being filled with Sigma graduates.  They have made the transition from a child being served to young men and women with a drive to serve others.
 
It is the training they receive in Sigma along with the passion they have developed as campers that makes these students some of the best summer staff we employ.  Most students attend Sigma two years in a row, starting at age 15 or 16.  Each year offers a distinct set of growth experiences.  During their two weeks in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, students will participate in the following:
 
Year 1
  • The Mentor 3:     Understanding and developing mentoring relationships
  • The Peacemaker:     Conflict resolution
  • I AM TALL Projects:     Hands-on Servant Leadership - 50 Service Hours Credit
  • The Disciple 3:     Understanding my Christian worldview and the ability to defend my beliefs
  • The Influencer:     Becoming an intentional, disciplined, initiative taker
  • Top of the World:     An exercise in endurance and self-evaluation
  • Denver: An Urban Exegesis

Year 2

  • Christ-Like Character 3:     Leading Like Nehemiah: A principle driven leader
  • Lifestyle of Service 3:     Earned Authority vs. Positional Authority
  • Servant Leadership 3:     My Kicks: Understanding your unique design
  • Excellence 3:     Execution: The Art of Getting Things Done
  • I AM TALL Projects:     Hands-on Servant Leadership - 50 Service Hours Credit
  • Top of the World: An exercise in endurance and self-evaluation
  • Western College Day:     Attending college on a mission

In addition to this wonderful summer experience, Sigmas are invited to special weekend retreats during the year with our professional ministry team and college staff.  There is nothing we do that is more impactful than this program.  You can become a Sigma through invitation by Sky Ranch or if you are new to Sky, through the online application below.
