Week 17 Trust in the Lord

Week 17
January 17-23, 2010

Be Faithful  (2 Samuel 22:26)
+4 days a week do something to prepare for WTEC
          *Even in adversity (James 1:2-7)
*Trust is in the Lord, not in the practice (Psalm 20:7-8)

Lessons Learned

With all of the practice I have been doing, there is a certain amount of confidence that arises.  Now, confidence is a good thing if it is in something that is worthy of placing your confidence in.  You can place your confidence in a rickety ladder and climb to the top to paint your house, but when you are falling back to the ground you may realize that your confidence was poorly placed.  If my confidence is in my preparation, and I have a bad day, my confidence will crumble.  However, if my confidence or my "trust" is in the unshakeable One, then my confidence is harder to shake.  You may ask, "then why practice?", since practice is supposed to be where we improve and gain confidence.  I prepare - not to gain confidence, but to obey the One who called me to prepare.  And I gain great confidence from daily seeing him show up in that preparation.  So, I will continue to practice and I will continue to trust in the Lord, and not the practice!
